The 4th round of the Mibosport Cup 2013/14 was held in Hrotovice again last weekend. A total of 150 drivers from 5 European countries signed up for the event with 87 drivers attending in the on-road and 58 in the off-road classes. Qualifying of the Touring Car Modified class didn’t end up well for top Czech driver Radek Flek, who had to finish all the qualifying sessions early due to technical problems with electronics and qualified only to the final C. Michal Orlowski (POL) took the TQ ahead of Kuba Šimurda (CZE) and David Nemček (SVK). The first final won Michal Orlowski, with Kuba Šimurda and Jiří Vyšín (CZE) behind. Michal Orlowski had to retire from the second final meaning Kuba Šimurda took the victory ahead of David Nemček and Jiří Vyšín. Michal Orlowski made a comfortable pace and won the third final ahead of Kuba Šimurda and David Nemček. The overall first place went to Michal Orlowski with Kuba Šimurda and David Nemček completing the podium. Final B was won by Tomáš Marek (CZE) and the final C by Radek Flek.
A total of 42 drivers attended the qualifying of the Stock LRP class. David Nemček (SVK) took the TQ ahead of René Kölbel (AUT) and Marcus Galler (AUT). David Nemček won all three finals and took the overall first position with René Kölbel behind. The third place overall went to Martin Henschel (DEU). Final B was won by Michal Vítámvás (CZE) who didn’t qualified for the final A this time. Final C was won by Markéta Vítámvásová (CZE) and final D by Alex Tlustý (CZE).
Qualifying of the Yokomo GT class showed that Ladislav Mlčák as the dominant driver of the class won’t have an easy time this weekend. Though he won the qualifying and took the TQ ahead of Martin Zvára, it was Martin who won the first final. The second final won Ladislav Mlčák. The third final was thrilling, too. With the gap of three tenths, Ladislav Mlčák won ahead of Martin Zvára. Third place went to Patrik Dworschak. The overall standings was the same – Ladislav Mlčák first with Martin Zvára and Patrik Dworschak completing the podium.
It’s almost a tradition that Austrian drivers dominate the Formula class. Herbert Weber (AUT) took the TQ ahead of René Kölbel (AUT) and Mateusz Ogonowski (POL). The first final won René Kölbel with Hebert Weber and Anreas Teubl (AUT) behind. With a tight gap, Herbert Weber took the victory ahead of René Kölbel and Mateusz Ogonowski. After an exciting battle in the third final, René Kölbel won right ahead of Herbert Weber and took the overall victory. The second place overall went to Herbert Weber with Mateusz Ogonowski completing the podium.
Qualifying of the Off-road 2WD Buggy class wasn’t really surprising. Martin Bayer (CZE) took the TQ ahead of his brother Aleš and Radek Flek (CZE). The Bayer brothers dominated the first two finals. Martin took both two victories and secured the first place overall, Aleš finished second twice. Martin Bayer didn’t attend the third A-final, so the victory went to Radek Flek with Roman Pudich (CZE) in second and Aleš Bayer in third. The overall winner was Martin Bayer ahead of his brother Aleš. Radek Flek completed the podium. Final B was won by Mario Sowka (AUT), final C by Matěj Šulc (CZE).
Qualifying for the Off-road 4WD Buggy class was very similar with the Bayer brothers dominating again. Martin secured the TQ ahead of Aleš. Third ended up Michal Orlowski. The first final won Martin Bayer with Michal Orlowski and David Kukla (CZE) behind. Aleš Bayer didn’t finish the final. Martin Bayer won the second final too ahead of Aleš. Third place went to Michal Orlowski. Even in this class, Martin Bayer secured the overall first place in the second final and didn’t attend the third final. Michal Orlowski had to retire for technical problems in the third final handing Aleš Bayer the win. The second place went to Zdenko Kunák (SVK) with David Kukla behind. The overall first place went to Martin Bayer with Aleš Bayer and Michal Orlowski completing the podium.
Final B was won by Karel Hájek (CZE) and final C by Michal Rapant (CZE).
